It is well past Aug. 1 when I intended to return to the blog BUT as you might imagine, dear reader, life with a toddler is constantly in motion. Our little guy is 20 months old in just three days and pretty soon we won’t be speaking in months any longer. Right now, we still mark the months because it feels as though he is growing rapidly by the day…in language, skills, growing into a kiddo, and all the things.
We have moved! I started a new job! In a whirlwind of unexpected events, I got a job that I just dreamed of having as the Executive Director at Menucha Retreat and Conference Center. We now live on site on this amazing campus in the Columbia Gorge now. We watch baby bunnies grow, overlook the amazing River and Gorge area, run through fields daily and walk around forested areas just as a daily event to remember how lucky we are. The dogs and baby and Ana and I love being able to be here!
Tadej got his first haircut two weeks ago and looks more and more like a kid rather than a baby. Ana is working from a nook upstairs that overlooks the beauty of this place. I am working in a job I feel like I was created to do these days even though I still feel slightly underwater. Not everything is peachy…I am still driving Tadej to his amazing childcare daily and picking him up but it is in NE Portland and is quite the trek each day. We are hoping to bank these gorgeous days so in the midst of winter up here we can recall the sun. We hear winters are brutal. And one of our dogs broke a toe and is recovering! But overall, our life is sweet these days!
More soon, I promise with holy wonders and writing reflections but here I am again and hopefully not as spotty before! Come and visit us at Menucha! We would love to have you!
