A bunch of Presbys and one UMC

All last week, Ana, Tadej and I were at Lake Tahoe, an hour outside of Reno! I was attending the Annual Conference of the Campfire Collective which consists mostly of the Presbyterian Camp and Conference crew. Menucha sent me and two other staffers to attend. We all stayed in a quirky cabin on site at Zephyr Point Conference Center for five days together.

We had a blast together! The Lake is gorgeous. We experienced allll the weather. One day it was sunny and windy in the morning but just a few hours later, kiddo and I were bundled in the snow as you can see. Snow to sun to snow again, we marveled at the Lake and trees around us. While I was in workshops and keynotes, Ana and Tadej got to hang and play. We ate all of our meals together. This kiddo is more and more comfy roaming around a dining hall and getting a variety of people to play with him. He discovered all it really took was to bring his little ball and offer it to someone. In no time, he was playing with whomever would play back around him.

It was good to be in a different space although we are all pretty darn tired after so much activity and travel and information. Tadej is going through withdrawals of not being with “Sawah and Lowly” as well or Sarah and Lori as we know them.

The more I am here the more thankful I am for the village we are creating around this little guy. He gets to experience people on such a wonderful level and he will know that he is so loved by so many. He knows he has a crew built in by living this life on retreat and conference time. In this world, he gets to explore, see animals, have a crew around him at any time and meet such wonderful new people. I get to feel this way too. I came home to the brim with information to process, even more questions for others, but feeling connected yet again to so many places I felt disconnected along the way.

Now to step back into the flow and not get too overwhelmed. 🙂

How is it with your soul these days? Where are you finding life?

In other news, my daily advent devotional has begun again for the season! If you are interested and not on that list let me know.

One last note…a public THANK YOU to my spouse who came with and played with our kiddo while I went to all of these things. She also has landed in camp life with so many people and things and she is doing it with so much graciousness and understanding and wow, that’s a cool blessing!
