Power to persist
Good morning! We made it to Friday! Hooray! Today’s scripture: LUKE 18:1-8 (NRSV) 1Then Jesus told them a parable about their need to pray always and not to lose heart. 2He said, “In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor had respect for people. 3In that city there was a widow who…
Time for head chef!
I have also become rather obsessed with the tv show, “Top Chef.” I am in the midst of watching beginning seasons. These chefs go all in. They work their tails off to create great food. I always cringe when they announce that the episode will have “Restaurant Wars” in it. This episode happens every season and tends to go poorly. There are two teams and they have to set up a restaurant of their own making for one night. This challenges everything they know about working together. This is a competition but they really must work together to make it work.
It usually doesn’t work. Someone gets egocentric. Someone takes over. Someone only cares about their dish and they all go down. If the team works as a team they are guaranteed to win the war.

Good morning! Today’s scripture: Romans 2:1-4 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) The Righteous Judgment of God 2 Therefore you have no excuse, whoever you are, when you judge others; for in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, are doing the very same things. 2 You say,“We know that God’s judgment on those who do…

Good morning all! Sunday morning, here we come! Today’s scripture: Matthew 13: 44-52 (NRSV) The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which someone found and hid; then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant…
