Today’s Reading:

Exodus 16:27-32

Nevertheless, some of the people went out on the seventh day to gather it, but they found none. Then the LORD said to Moses, “How long will you refuse to keep my commands and my instructions? Bear in mind that the LORD has given you the Sabbath; that is why on the sixth day he gives you bread for two days. Everyone is to stay where they are on the seventh day; no one is to go out.” So the people rested on the seventh day.  The people of Israel called the bread manna. It was white like coriander seed and tasted like wafers made with honey. Moses said, “This is what the LORD has commanded: ‘Take an omer of manna and keep it for the generations to come, so they can see the bread I gave you to eat in the wilderness when I brought you out of Egypt.’”

During Advent, I posted a video from the infamous troupe called Improv Everywhere.  It was incredibly popular and made a great point!  So with great pleasure I bring you…

Look Up More

This is definitely one of my favs of the Improv Everywhere collection…although the quality isn’t the best the point is well taken.  If you watch this video you will see the how sneaky the group is to position themselves in the windows.  Why?  Because its a way to get people to pay attention around them.  It’s a simple and fun way to dance in the windows in order to bring back surprise and fun to the city as well as remind people that things are happening around them everyday.

Plus what a great way to remind ourselves to look up more around us.  What are we missing when we are took focused on getting from point A to point B?

Will we see more of this?

Or maybe more of this…. Or even some of this… Whatever you see, it may make you pause for a moment and rest or laugh or pray or whatnot.  God asked the people in Exodus to gather when they needed to and then look up and take Sabbath.  How well do we do that today? I can only speak for myself and say…not very well!  I will be the first to admit that on my unscheduled day such as today, I might find myself doing a bit of work. I might wander into work without even knowing it…on the computer, walking around town, answering the phone….even though I worked quite a bit yesterday on my day off.  So today I am trying to stay unscheduled.  Easier said than done! So it is helpful for me to Look Up More in order to breathe, look around and see God…to rest in the Sabbath put out before me. Good Luck and enjoy!Court
