Good morning!

Today’s scripture: MARK 10:13-16

13People were bringing little children to him in order that he might touch them; and the disciples spoke sternly to them. 14But when Jesus saw this, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the little children come to me; do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs. 15Truly I tell you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will never enter it.” 16And he took them up in his arms, laid his hands on them, and blessed them.

This is Julian….

April McGlothin-Eller
He calls me “Tia.” I call him “J.B.” or my nephew.  He is the son of my seminary roommate (and chosen family for sure).  J.B. and I skype every once in a while and he pretends that I am on the phone all the time with whatever is the phone at the moment.  Because we have this awesome world of technology, he knows his Tia even if we live far apart (he is in Chicago).  When we skype he shows me things…like how he can run and his nativity set that includes Darth Vader and other great things.  Julian loves to say grace before a meal and knows what it is to delight in the moment.
This is Karthik…
He calls me “Godmama.” I call him “Little K.”  His parents and I have known each other for quite a while. His dad and I went through ordination together.  Karthik lives in Colorado and I saw him in January.  He loves to tell me about cars and said to his mom, “Godmama loves me no matter what” (for reasoning to not clean his room.)
These are just two very special kiddos in my life.  They are awesome.  They are full of light, knowledge and perspective on how the world works.  They crack me up and make my day when I talk to them or hear about them.  They are definitely God’s creations in this world who remind us of who God is.  I am sure their parents can tell me about times when they don’t feel like they are so heavenly but even those times are real and authentic.
It is no wonder to me that Jesus highlights kids as being precious to God.  At the time, that was unheard of but I can’t imagine it any other way. Today please say a prayer for some special kiddos in your life.  Ask a blessing upon them and thank God for their presence in the world!
Peace,
Court
