March 18

Good morning everyone! Ok, it’s Monday…let’s go….

Today’s scripture:  Psalm 20 -The Message (MSG)

God answer you on the day you crash,                                                                                                                                                       The name God-of-Jacob put you out of harm’s reach,                                                                                                                        Send reinforcements from Holy Hill,                                                                                                                                             Dispatch from Zion fresh supplies,                                                                                                                                                     Exclaim over your offerings,                                                                                                                                                                Celebrate your sacrifices,                                                                                                                                                                                  Give you what your heart desires,                                                                                                                                                 Accomplish your plans.

When you win, we plan to raise the roof                                                                                                                                                                   and lead the parade with our banners.                                                                                                                                                   May all your wishes come true!

That clinches it—help’s coming, an answer’s on the way, everything’s going to work out.

This weekend and last week was pretty interesting.  There was a lot going on.  It seems that around holidays stuff is more pronounced in people and stuff happens more. This week there were times that felt pretty heavy to me and there are many of you going through many things at this time.  This weekend I even went through moments of loneliness and heaviness.  We all go through it.  I was missing my people…you know who you are. 🙂
So here is my message for you today…you know who you are….you will get through this.  You have a community to surround you and all shall be well. Julian of Norwich said something that comforts me when life seems pretty hard. She said,
“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”

In fact a friend of mine wrote a song about this particular quote. If you are interested here is Carl’s song that helps me process a bit…
When it seems like sickness will win, all shall be well.
When relationships are ending and there doesn’t seem to be an easy answer, all manner of thing shall be well.
When it seems like you are endlessly lonely and you are missing people beside you, all shall be well.
When the world seems like it is full of bad news…all shall be well.
And when you crash…when it seems like you are exhausted…God will be there in the crash according to David’s Psalm above.
I like that image.  When it seems like you can’t keep running but actually crash, God is there and will answer. This is my word of comfort today.  Just be. All shall be well.
